  • &F - Factory reset (forget your sins)
  • &C1 - DCD follows carrier (act normal)
  • &D2 - Hang up on DTR drop (don't be clingy)
  • &K3 - Hardware flow control (RTS/CTS gang)
  • S0=0 - Don't auto-answer (you're calling US)
If your modem doesn't support these commands, it belongs in a museum.

:: TROUBLESHOOTING ::

Q: I hear screaming when I connect.
A: That's the modem. It's normal. It's also how we feel.

Q: NO CARRIER after handshake.
A: Your line is trash, your modem is trash, or both. Try disabling V.42/MNP error correction.

Q: It connects but nothing happens.
A: Did you configure PPP? Did you enter the username? Did you read ANY of this page?

Q: Can I get tech support?
A: No.
